Robert the Bruce- New Statue

Bannockburn 2014

The Bruce is nearly ready again, and also a new visitor centre and hard to believe but well its dropped into less than 12 months now till one of the biggest Anniversary`s of our lifetime and all our plans are spot on, in fact we think we are ahead of the pack. Limited spaces available and we now have several musios coming with us so we have a ceilidh band oif our own and not just bagpipes I might add.

Tartan day-  read more here

Yes its Tartan day time and In Hamilton here this weekend. an invite;

Dear fellow clansman,

you, and your Clan are invited to take part in the annual Frankton Tartan Day Parade 6th July, followed by a Pot Luck luncheon and Ceiledh at the Caledonian Hall in High Street. Come and celebrate the repeal of the Tartan Act, join in the festivities, dancing & singing. This year the Parade coincides with the resiteing of the Frankton Market, further west down Commerce Street, and on to High Street. The Caledonian Society will also be holding an Auction, to sell off a lot of  obsolete Band gear, no longer being used, should you be looking for a cheap kilt, Plaid, belt, bonnet (  MaClennan Tartan), come along and join in the fun. We propose to start off the day, led by the pipes, then the clans, Parade at 11am sharp, followed by Street dancing , hopefully a Street Haggis Ceremony then onto the hall for lunch.

CELTIC RINGS

My own journey

For those souls interested and yes there a few of you, my studies go very well, believe it or not we are nearly half way through Semester 2, and the course, in my journey into Mental Health. It is indeed fascinating and challenging to be a student again and to be interacting with a class full of people mostly under 40 ...lol

Celtic Connexions websites are undergoing huge changes; some of you may have noticed. Thanx for your patience. We will continue to offer bargains whilst we try and reduce the big stocks we hold.Then we can plan the next move.

Slainte

Bob
